The Forms
Weave between the tangible and intangible world in this striking film set amongst Catalonia's spectacular architecture
Forms are universal, but not only universal; they are immutable objects that exist separately from this world and more real than it, they are known by the mind and not by the senses.
Forms exist outside of time and space. They cannot be perceived directly (except through the mind). The Theory of Forms explains how we can generalize from the particular to the universal; how can we think of things that are perfect without ever having seen things that are perfect.
We and our creations are not forms, but representations of them. All these representations look different because none are perfect, they are just an example, a version (of a form).
We create mental models of shapes. For example, the form of a friendship, the form of justice, of love, etc. This is what we reproduce in our lives.
In this film we find an analogy between forms as concepts, as rules (theory of forms) and geometric forms (represented in costume design, architectural/urban design and in nature)
